Home Security - the most important benefit of owning your own home is the feeling of security.  However, just feeling secure isn't enough; you have to make sure your home is capable of withstanding an intruder's attack.  Make your home look like a fortress may just drive the intruder to a more vulnerable property!

If you stand on the sidewalk across from your home and look at it objectively, what do you see?  Do you see a well-maintained house?  Are there windows open; is the gate to the back yard open or closed?  Are there toys and cycles lying around when the kids are at school or when you're away shopping?  Ask yourself, does this house look like I'm inviting in the burglars or does this look as if it has been locked up nice and tight, making it less easy to break into? 

Compare your home to your neighbors' houses. Does your house compare well? If your maintenance isn't as good as theirs, then you're making yourself the target.
